Creating Digital Blooms Boards For Digital Learning Professional Development
Activiating The Use Of Digital Tools With Blooms Digital Taxonomy
In light of remote and hybrid learning for this school year planning our traditional professional development sessions for teachers would be challenging. Last year we transitioned well into the creation of videos in specific software or technical skill areas and now we are tasked with continuing to connect with teachers in new and creative ways.
For this year I am looking forward to creating monthly Blooms Menu Boards of Digital Tools that address a specific needs for instruction or technical support needs. You can use the resources below to help identify potential topics that connect to Creating, Evaluating, Analyzing, Applying, Understanding, Remembering and then apply that area to an explanation of a digital tool or resource.
Below are some clarifying steps:
Step 1. Identify 2 Tools or Use Of A Tool Which Addresses 2 of the core areas of Creating, Evaluating, Analyzing, Applying, Understanding, Remembering of Blooms’ Digital Taxonomy.
Step 2. Provide an actionable title for both topics like “Learn how to Annotate YouTube Videos”(Something that addresses a Bloom’s verb and shares a resource)
Step 3. Create the short video or 3-5 slide slide deck describing how to do what you have described or a short presentation which outlines the important steps.
Step 4: Provide a link to the Google Drive Video (Downloadable) or the Slides Presentation
2 Options For Sharing The Knowldege:
Create a short 2-5 Minute Video Explaining the Tool And How It can Be Used To Address (Creating,Evaluating,Analyzing,Applying,Understanding,Remembering) A Blooms Need with a Digital Tool.
Create a 3-5 Slide slideshow explanation of the topic
Goals:
Activate our own understanding and use of these tools in a variety of ways to support instructional practice.
Introduce teachers quickly to a way to use a digital tool for a specific purpose.
These topics can connect to:
Looking for quick fixes or classroom solutions to issues.
Identify tools which address a specific learning, assessment or instructional need.
Can introduce a tool in a way with maximum impact.

Monthly Blooms Assignments
I am creating a form for my Digital Learning Specialists to use to submit these topics and provide the links to the drive video/slide deck, the short description and links. I am trying to make it a streamlined process to identify potential topics, share how to’s and the steps/video to the resource. Below is a rough outline of what the boards will look like(without links) and I anticipate sharing the graphic widely.
